Identity Crisis

By April 29, 2025No Comments2 min read

Jesus never wavered in who He was. He knew where He came from, why He was here, and what He was called to do. When the heavens opened at His baptism, God the Father declared, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased” (Matthew 3:17). That affirmation wasn’t just for the crowd, it was identity spoken over Jesus. And He lived from that truth every single day.

Jesus didn’t drift through life aimlessly, waiting for someone else to define Him. He didn’t chase affirmation from others or question His purpose. He walked in clarity, confidence, and obedience because He knew who He was.

That same confidence is available to us.

When we are in Christ, we are called sons and daughters of God (Galatians 3:26). We are no longer orphans, outsiders, or question marks. We belong. And when we embrace that identity, we begin to live from a place of security instead of striving. From identity flows purpose. From purpose flows passion. And passion produces fruit.

But what if you’re in the thick of an identity crisis? What if you’ve forgotten who you are?

Then it’s time to let God remind you.

Ask Him:
Who do You say I am?
How do You see me, Father?
Let His rhema — His living, breathing Word — speak louder than your doubts, your circumstances, or the labels others have tried to put on you.

Scripture says, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me” (John 10:27). We were created to hear Him, to be led by Him, and to live in daily relationship with Him. The more we know Him, the more we discover who we really are.

If you’re feeling lost or unsure today, don’t fake your way through it. Don’t bury the ache or silence the questions. Bring them to the One who made you. Ask for wisdom (James 1:5). Ask for clarity. Ask for identity.

God is not silent. And when He speaks, things come to life. Including you.
